ABOUT ELLIE

Ellie is a BAFTA-winning, queer writer-director with a passion for telling stories about young people. She recently directed Sparklers as part of BBC's Sparks monologue series on BBC iPlayer. Her episode won a Broadcast Digital Award for Best Short-Form Scripted 2021.

Her short film, They Found Her in a Field, won the Hijack Visionary Filmmaker award at Aesthetica Film Festival 2019. It had its world premiere at BFI Flare 2019 and was in competition at London Short FF, Leeds International and was nominated for directing at Underwire FF. Her 2017 short film, Outlines, also screened at BFI Flare and was nominated for the world renowned Iris Prize Best British Short. In 2017 she was awarded a Children's BAFTA for her work with the online educational company History Bombs and was selected for BFI NETWORK x BAFTA Crew 2021.

Ellie's latest short was written by Charlie Tidmas and awarded funding from Bournemouth Film School's Funding Futures scheme. It was supported by Intermission Film and Spinster Films and will be playing at festivals this year.
